Our Services
At St Mary’s House of Welcome, we open our doors to those in need, five days a week.
We are open to all people over the age of 18. Children are welcome if accompanied by a parent or guardian.
We provide breakfast, lunch, snacks, showers and emergency assistance. We do not provide accommodation but we can help you find accommodation. We also have longer-term programs and referral networks – you can talk to us about the help you need.
Meals (Mon-Fri)
Join us at St Mary’s House of Welcome for nourishing meals served with care. Breakfast from 8:30am to 9:45am and Lunch from 12:00pm to 1:15pm, where our dedicated volunteers provide table service in our welcoming dining room.
Showers with Towels and Toiletries
Have a comforting and warm shower at St Mary’s House of Welcome. Grab a towel and essential toiletries and have a moment of relaxation.
Essential Supplies
From toiletries to limited bedding, sleeping bags, and pantry items, we provide crucial support during challenging times.
Housing and Other Supports
Our committed Community Support Workers offer assistance to people facing homelessness or at risk. We address challenges like housing crises, substance use, mental health, and family violence. We can provide referral pathways into relevant specialist services and actively support you to work towards your case plan goals.
Centrelink Access:
Services Australia reaches out every Tuesday from 9:30am to 12:00pm, providing support to individuals receiving income support from Centrelink.
Social Inclusion and Wellness Programs

Support Services
On the first Thursday of every month, optometry services are available from 1:30pm to 3:30pm.
Fitzroy Legal Service is on-site every second Tuesday from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, offering drop-in legal assistance.
Computer Access
Access our computer room for a safe browsing experience with free internet and available resources.
Mail Collection
For community members without a fixed address, St Mary’s House of Welcome offers a secure and confidential mail forwarding service.
Consumer Consult Group
Each quarter a group of our service users come together with our management to discuss the client experience here at SMHOW. Our goal is to ensure that we are meeting your needs to the best of our ability, and this group will provide advice on how we can improve.
